Apostle, Disciple, or Minister

We hear these terms often in church.  With disciple and apostle, it is usually in the text of someone in the Bible.  If we eamine the meaning of the words, we should recognize that these terms are referring to us.  We are the living body of Christ in the world.  If we are doing what we should, then get ready to be recognized.

An apostle by definition is   1: one sent on a mission: as a: one of an authoritative New Testament group sent out to preach the gospel and made up especially of Christ's 12 original disciples and Paul b: the first prominent Christian missionary to a region or group 2 a: a person who initiates a great moral reform or who first advocates an important belief or system b: an ardent supporter

An disciple by definition is 1 : one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another: as a : one of the twelve in the inner circle of Christ's followers according to the Gospel accounts b : a convinced adherent of a school or individual.

An minister by definition is 1.  To attend to the wants and needs of others.  2. To perform the functions of a cleric.

When I read the Bible, the directions we are follow are that of an apsotle, a disciple, and a minister.  So, when you follow Jesus and put Him in our life, we are all three.  You are empowered with all the powers of God.  You must have the faith and trust in God.  Then all things are possible.

"And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; I say to to you, if you have the faith of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."  Matthew 17:20

May the Lord, our Father, instill the Holy Spirit in each of us so that we will be a minister, an apostle, and a disciple of Him who came into the world to save us.  In  Jesus name and His assurance that you will do this, we ask as your child.  Amen
