The book of Matthew is declaring that Jesus is the Messiah and is
particular in showing the fulfillment of the prophecies. The
section here is considered "the greatest sermon" given by Jesus
himself. Here is the guidelines for our life here on Earth. This was given as instructions to the crowd
of 5000 that was fed bread and fish and now were being fed with the
food of everlasting life.
When you study each
part, close
your eyes and put yourself on that field hearing the words spoken
directly to you. Each part is plain and simple. It
begins with the beatitudes which were given not to condemn you for
failure, but to bless you when you follow them. It continues
with putting us above the law in keeping the spirit of the
law. Since this is impossible, Jesus gives us the answer to
be righteous with God - forgive others, pray to the Father, and ask
forgiveness from Him.
I
have discovered that these chapters and chapters of John 14th through
the 17th chapters to be very inspirational and it is a summary of Jesus'
entire
mission. This gives us our own "little guide book" in living here
on Earth in God's
kingdom.
