I wish for you that every time you see a rainbow that you remember its
reference in the Bible The rainbow – the symbol the promise
of GOD. When the waves of life come crashing on the sand,
look to the rainbow in your heart.
GOD has promised us eternal life with HIM, not an easy and pleasurable
life here on Earth. We tend to think that if we are good, and
do lots of charitable things then GOD will smile on us and give nothing
but good things.
I am sorry to say that is NOT how it works. You will
experience troubles, pain, sorrow, and sickness. You will be
betrayed and treated unjustly. You will grieve at the loss of
loved ones.
There was Job, who loved GOD and was faithful to GOD doing everything
in GOD’s favor. GOD let him suffer tragedy after
tragedy. By being faithful, he pleased GOD even more.
But there is good news. GOD is with you all the
way. GOD keeps HIS promises.
Remember that Noah had to build the ark. He had to gather the
animals. When the rains came, he had to feed and keep the
animals for months until the waters went away. Only then did
he see GOD’s promise in the sky.
What we need is a reminder that no matter what we are facing, GOD is
there with us. Let that rainbow be that reminder.
You have seen many rainbow in the sky. It is easy to have a
real one with a light and a prism. If you take a deep look
there is a rainbow in your heart. His name is
Jesus. He is there with you till the end of time.
You have Faith, Hope and Charity – the guideposts of life.
Faith is essential. Faith is not just saying I believe, but
putting the full trust in GOD. The old adage goes like this;
an aerial acrobat is an
excellent tightrope walker who
plans to walk a wire over the Grand Canyon pushing a
wheelbarrow. You are asked, in faith, do you believe that he
can do it? You answer, yes, of course. The test is do you
believe enough to get in the wheelbarrow? GOD wants you to
have that kind of trust in HIM.
Hope is also important. It is a noun of certainty, not a wish
of what we would like. When we believe that we will be with
GOD forever, it is not a wish but a certainty. We should also
have that certain hope when we pray. We are talking to our
heavenly FATHER to do what we ask. If you asked your Earthly
father for something, you already feel that you will get what you
want. Do the same when you pray. Do not be brash or
arrogant, but trusting in GOD.
Charity is the last key. It is not just being generous to
others, but it is love. Love is GOD and GOD is
love. Hate is of the world and has no part with
GOD. The only thing to hate is sin, not the sinner.
If you love GOD and love others, then you will do the things that you
should as a child of GOD. You are only doing your chores in
the family of GOD. And remember mercy, that important part of
love, to forgive others so that our Heavenly Father will forgive us.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.”
John 13:9 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved
you, so you must love one another.”
So there it is. Faith, Hope, and Charity - the keys to
kingdom of GOD.
The rainbow is there to remind us of GOD’s promise, just as it did for
Noah. So throughout the troubles and pains of life, look to
the rainbow (the one in your heart) and have peace in your heart by the
promise of GOD.
