Are you a rich man (or
person), or a poor man (or person)? It
is very easy to tell.
A
poor man is described as a person who needs more, regardless of what or
how much he has. A rich man has all he needs even though he
may
have very little at all.
The
hardest thing a man has to face is
to accept charity. I have faced it and I thank God for
it.
It humbles you and makes you re-evaluate your life. If you
find
that Eartly wealth means nothing at all, you have found the
answer. We are all charity cases to our Creator. If
He
wouldn't give us what we have (health, talent, intelligence, abilities,
etc.), we would be nothing. So, yes I thank God for waking me
up.
What you
now need to find out is what you really, really
need. Do you have it already? Do you have
more?
I know that our Heavenly Father provides us with more than we need, and
a whole lot more than we deserve. This process of stripping
our
wants and wishes out of our real needs is difficult and
painful.
But the result is definitely worth it.
Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in
spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
When
you become this "rich man" who has all he needs, you are blest by our
Heavenly Father. Such a gift should be worthy of the task of
looking at your life to see what you need and what you have.
I pray
to our Father to help you become poor in spirit. This will
help you put away the cares of the world and focus on your tra\easures
in heaven. Amen.
