Sacrifice

Every religion in the world has sacrifices.  It is an answer to the deity or deities for supplication, thanks, or praise.  This has included animal, vegetable, and human offerings that continued until the coming of Jesus Christ.

With Jesus, He was and is the sacrifice needed to make us righteous with the Father.  Does this say then we don't need to make any sacrifice?  Not really.   What the Father wants from you is the sacrifice of yourself.  Not to be crucified or given up on an altar, but to sacrifice yourself for His sake, living in the world and doing the things He wants you to do.

Does that mean just going to church on Sunday?  No, it is an everyday thing.  Put God at the top of the list, first thing.  Yes, then you can go to work, raise a family, make dinner, enjoy a ball game. etc.  Just as long as the other things are lower on your to do list.  Does that mean going to church every Sunday?  Not necessarily, if you are still placing God first in what you do on Sunday.  But it is a great place to hear His word and get inspired to do what you should.

That is how you become fruitful and do God's will.  By seeing and helping others, by being loving and forgiving, and by praying and listening to His words.

Now it is up to you.  What is your sacrifice?  A contribution to charity and a few minutes here and there?  He who has given you everything and everything belongs to Him is getting what in return?  Remember you time and talents are His also.

In love and faith, I pray that the Lord inspires you to grow in your sacrifice.
