Are you sold yet?

Here we are in this world physically.  If you are a true Christian you are in God's world apart from the hustle, bustle, stress and anxiety of the world.  Does this fit you?  If not maybe you aren't sold yet.

This commercial world is always trying to sell us something.  New cars; insurance; weight loss; looking better in body fir, clothes, and makeup; a better economic plan; the “best” candidate for office, etc.  When convinced that they have a solution to what we want, we buy it or buy into it.

I have visited many churches in many different parts of the country.  In the service, I listen to the people around me speak the Lord's prayer, the offering prayer, and the creed.  I hear it in a monotone that is flat and expressionless.  If I were a Muslim, Hindu or other religion, I would wonder why are they saying it?  It certainly wouldn't sell me.

We have memorized things in school and when reciting them do it with more flair and meaning than we do our prayers.  We memorized the Gettysburg address.  If Lincoln had delivered it the way we do with little feeling, I don't think it would have gone down in history.

If you are sold, then why are you not expressing it like you are talking to a human person?  Our Heavenly Father is expected to listen to half hearted efforts?  Why aren't your prayers said the feeling and pleading that you would use in asking your Earthly father for something special?

The Father does not want meaningless prayers.  “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words”  Matthew 6:7

Now, if you have full faith and trust in the Lord, you are sold.  Now go sell it!

My prayer to the Father is to fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you cannot contain the love, joy, peace and grace that He gives you.  In Jesus's name, so be it.  Amen.
