Do you feel that you are trapped in this world? That you are
on a
circular trendmill getting no where? Are you like the man in
the
"Groundhog Day" movie? He was caught waking up each morning
to
repeat the same day over and over. We all feel that way at
times.
If you want to change your life, then you need to start changing your
thinking. You are not here on an eternal pass. This
life
here is but a temporary visit. God put you here for a purpose
(to
love, obey, and glorify Him). We are to be fruitful (doing
everyday things that show that we are His). Yes, this can be
repeating.
You are living the parable of the
farmer. The farmer repeats year after year with tilling the
soil,
planting the seeds (not all grow and produce food), weeding and
watering (the world trying to hamper his work), and harvesting (not
always as much as planned). Seem like an endless task?
Look
at how many people he has fed. Certainly a good farmer is
fruitful.
You are in the world and when you
are part of Christ's body. the world will hate and fight you.
Unless your thinking is focused on God, you will feel like
you
are getting nowhere. Remember we are to: "and you
shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with
all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
The second is this, `You shall love your
neighbor as
yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:30-31
This
means that we are placing God first, last and always in our life.
When we get to feeling trapped, we have a clear view of
what's at
the end of the tunnel. The hope of a joyful, eternal life is
not
a wish, but a certainty.
Think about the
early Chrtistian slaves. They went about thier tasks knowing
the
freedom and joy that was coming. Their bodies were slaves to
the
world, but they belonged to Him. If the world is enslaving
your
body, so be it, but keep your mind and soul for God.
What can we do now to change? Put God in your life.
Begin
to show your love for others so that the world will know you belong to
Him. Forgive others. You are giving the gift of
peace to
yourself.
I
pray to the Lord that you will obey Him and listen for His messenger to
encourage you to do His will here on Earth that the world will know
that you are a true child of God.
Amen.
